The book tells the story of my family from tragedy to heartbreak to survival. Each chapter begins with a letter to my granddaughters and lets the saga unfold in narrative prose punctuated with poems. It’s a story for anyone who has a family who at any time has had to dig down deep in their roots to find hope. It’s my story for future generations to know the power of the human spirit.
